Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis in the Emergency Department invites you to join the Graduate Nurse Residency – a 16-week program designed to accelerate your transition from student to professional RN within a high-acuity Level 1 Trauma Center.

This full-time night program runs three 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm) with upcoming start dates in June 2027 (and January 2027). You will grow through mentored patient care, advanced technologies, and a culture of compassion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Must obtain/maintain a current RN license (state or compact).
• Must meet all state Board of Nursing requirements.
• BLS (AHA) required — or completed within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Perform duties and responsibilities in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
