Job summary

Riverview Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role focuses on initial patient assessments, lab work, and coordinating discharge plans with physicians.

The ED RN will also support transfer of patients admitted to the hospital and educate patients on discharge instructions. Minimum Requirements include graduation from an accredited RN program, Indiana RN license at hire, and at least two years in Critical Care; ED experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse Program by date of hire.
• Indiana RN license by hire date.
• Two years of Critical Care experience; Emergency Department experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC certifications required or within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Triages patients in the Emergency Department based on condition severity.
• Assesses patient condition including vital signs and medications.
• Administers medications and assists with procedures.
• Monitors patient status and communicates with care team.
• Participates in discharge planning and education.
• Charts patient history, condition, medications, and treatments in EMR.
• Discharges patients and ensures transportation arrangements.
