Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional inpatient nursing care using the nursing process. The role requires applying clinical knowledge, judgment, and independent decision-making to achieve quality patient outcomes.

The incumbent must demonstrate novice-level knowledge for patient care across the lifespan, assess data, and develop age-appropriate care plans while ensuring safety and patient education.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of West Virginia or multi-state RN license via eNLC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Less than 12 months of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process for inpatients.
• Assess patient data and develop care plans incorporating lifecyle considerations.
• Document and communicate care through handoff tools/processes and EBP.
• Ensure patient safety and educate patients based on learning needs.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to deliver quality patient care.
• Demonstrate lifelong learning and accountability for delegated nursing care.
