Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a registered nurse for inpatient care, providing professional nursing services using the nursing process. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, and evaluation to ensure safe patient outcomes in a hospital setting.

This position is 0.6 FTE on day shifts, with 2-12 hour shifts, and requires an RN license, BLS certification within 30 days, and less than 12 months of RN experience. BSN preferred where possible.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where services will be provided or active multi-state license via eNLC.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safety and continuity of care using documentation and handoff tools.
• Creates plan of care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnoses, interventions, and evaluation of outcomes.
• Recognizes patient safety concerns and uses appropriate resources.
• Provides education tailored to the patient’s learning needs.
