Job summary

Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS seeks an Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join the night shift. This full-time role runs 7p-7a, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

The ER RN delivers rapid and skilled care to patients seeking emergency medical attention and collaborates with the care team. Requirements include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS within the specified timelines, and ER experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival to determine severity and triage accordingly.
• Provide direct care including medications, wound care, monitoring vital signs and pain management.
• Assist with stabilizing patients and life-saving interventions (ACLS, PALS, trauma care).
• Manage high-stress, rapidly changing situations while caring for multiple patients.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in clinical condition and results.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options and discharge instructions.
