Job summary

Stony Brook Medicines Emergency Department is hiring a Registered Nurse (T&RC) for the Full-Time Night Shift. You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians, aides, and other staff to deliver safe, high-quality emergency care.

The ideal candidate holds NYS RN license, BSN preferred, and acute care experience. The role is full-time, night hours 1900–0730, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing and at least one year of acute hospital care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patients condition and nursing needs; coordinate with other health disciplines.
• Develop an individualized care plan including discharge planning.
• Administer direct nursing care and medications.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patients condition to the charge RN/clinician.
• Document patient/family teaching and ensure comprehension in the chart.
• Collaborate with staff and participate in quality assurance activities.
