Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking an Emergency Room nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will prioritize, coordinate, and delegate care touchpoints, ensuring patient safety and family engagement throughout every shift.

Required LA RN license and AHA BLS, with ACLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications (ENPC can substitute for PALS in certain ERs). The role emphasizes teamwork, infection control, and continuous patient education.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications. (New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only).
• ENPC (can substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs).

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events or patient condition changes.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
• Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services.
• Address patient questions and concerns.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
