Job summary

Bayhealth Emergency Department seeks an experienced RN to provide direct professional nursing care in a busy ED setting. The role emphasizes patient-centered planning, safety, and collaboration with the care team.

Responsibilities include medication administration, wound care, and timely documentation. Requires RN licensure, BLS, and possibly ACLS/PALS per management. Part-time night shifts with a competitive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing or nursing diploma required.
• Current RN license and Basic Life Support required.
• ACLS/PALS may be required per manager's direction.
• Commit to seeking specialty certification within time frame as indicated during interview
• Experience in relevant specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop an individualized patient-centered plan of care.
• Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans.
• Administer medications following the five rights of administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information to guide treatment decisions.
• Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions.
