The ED nurses deliver direct patient care, administer medications, monitor patients, and coordinate with physicians to stabilize and treat emergencies. Applicants should hold an active RN license in good standing and have BLS. ACLS/PALS may be required within 90 days; NRP is possible if available.

Qualifications

• Current RN License, in good standing with the nursing board.
• 1 year Emergency Room nursing experience is preferred.
• Basic Life Support must be obtained prior to working in the Emergency Department.
• ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 90 days of hire date.
• NRP must be obtained when an instructor is available and scheduled by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to ED patients under physician supervision.
• Administer medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous) and document accurately.
• Initiate actions for adverse reactions per policy and report to the physician.
• Assist physicians during exams, tests, and treatments.
• Monitor and document patient status and vital signs.
• Maintain clean, stocked treatment areas and proper PPE usage.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and follow-up.
