Job summary

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital in Ocala, FL is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team. The RN uses established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage to advocate for patients and families while supporting the hospital’s mission.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (AHA) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required; compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida license after relocation
• Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree is required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• No Travel Required
• No experience Required Years of Experience

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after interventions
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and document care promptly in the medical record
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs
• Teach patients/families/caregivers about their medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, side effects and follow-up measures
• Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy lifestyle changes and self-management
