Job summary

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital in Florida is seeking an experienced RN to join the Emergency Room team. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

The role emphasizes pain management, timely procedures, patient education, and advocacy, with opportunities for professional growth within hospital councils and nursing initiatives.

Qualifications

• ACLS, PALS, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within specified timelines.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• RN license in the state of FL is required.
• Associate Degree is required; Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is preferred.
• Acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after interventions.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider; documents care promptly.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to provide exceptional care.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications and side effects; translates complex terms.
• Educates on non-medicinal follow-up measures and prepares for future self-management.
