Job summary

UVA Health Culpeper is seeking a Registered Nurse Extender for the Emergency Department. This full-time role supports physicians and the healthcare team, delivering direct patient care during high-acuity shifts and coordinating care plans for ED patients.

Candidates must have RN licensure and ED experience; CPI certification within three months; multitask, communicate clearly, and work on a fast-paced unit. 13-week assignments with incentives to convert to permanent staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Current RN licensure in applicable state required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in assessment, planning, and evaluation of care plans.
• Deliver direct patient care and administer medications with accuracy.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure safe patient throughput.
• Maintain documentation and use best practices in patient safety.
