Job summary

UVA Community Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to lead a healthcare team, build trusted relationships with patients and families, and coordinate care from assessment through discharge. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, compliance with policies, and accountability in delivering compassionate care.

You should have an accredited nursing degree (BSN preferred), valid RN licensure, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the applicable state required.
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• CPI certification within three months of hire for Behavioral Health, ED, and CSSO.
• Ability to perform basic nursing skills and multitask; effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the healthcare team and establish an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and support system.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
• Provide and document patient care under supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager.
• Administer medications and monitor patients; assist in CPR and emergency care.
• Collaborate with physicians and team to ensure timely and quality care.
