Job summary

Coffey Health System in Kansas is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. The RN will triage patients, initiate care plans, monitor hemodynamics, and intervene per ACLS guidelines as needed to stabilize critically ill or injured patients.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in acute med-surg or emergency settings, Kansas RN license, and certifications such as ABLS/ENPC/CEN preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current Kansas license.
• Minimum 1 year of Acute Med-Surg or emergency nursing experience.
• ABLS/ENPC/CEN certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, monitor outcomes and adjust care as needed.
• Perform triage, focused assessment and reassessment for age groups served.
• Interpret cardiac monitoring and intervene using ACLS where appropriate.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians or providers.
• Document thoroughly and coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Use teaching moments with patients and families; support discharge instructions.
• Respond to Code Blue in the department as situations require.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and supervise nursing students.
