Job summary

Methodist McKinney Hospital in McKinney, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The ED RN provides direct and indirect patient care for acute, urgent, and emergent conditions; works with physicians, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

This full-time position requires an ADN with BSN preferred, TX RN license in good standing, and BLS/ACLS; PALS within orientation. Minimum 3 years ED experience in an acute care setting is expected.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Texas RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years ER experience in an acute care hospital.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS within orientation.
• TNCC and ENPC preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required within orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and triage.
• Administers medications, IV therapies, and blood products.
• Monitors patient response and communicates changes to provider.
• Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for care.
• Documents assessments and interventions in EMR; ensures regulatory compliance.
• Provides patient and family education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in disaster preparedness and ED quality initiatives.
• Maintains infection control practices and patient safety.
