Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Emergency Department in a high-acuity Level III setting. The role involves rapid assessment, triage, and coordination of care in a 29-bed ED with a 3x12 hour schedule and rotating weekends.

You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and specialists to deliver evidence-based interventions, providing education to patients and families, and supporting performance improvements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• RN licensure in good standing as required by the state
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS or NRPs certifications preferred
• Demonstrates strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency department environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with nursing process.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Collaborate with care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions as needed.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and post-discharge care.
