Job summary

HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital in Ridgeland, SC is seeking a full-time night shift Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborating with providers to support outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities include pain assessment, documentation, timely interventions, and patient-family education on conditions, plans, medications, and follow-up steps.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ENPC or EICP must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Neonatal Resuscitation must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly and promotes effective pain management with reassessment after interventions.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and documents care in the patient record.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to deliver exceptional care.
• Educates patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plan, medications and side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Explains non-medicinal follow-up steps, such as diet and exercise, and prepares for future self-management.
