Job summary

St. Vincent Healthcare in Utah is seeking an EMT/Paramedic to provide essential and advanced life support, document care accurately, and coordinate with the health care team. The role includes vital signs assessment, specimen collection, catheterization support, and assisting with patient admissions and discharges.

Requirements include Montana EMT/Paramedic licensure, BLS certification on hire, and IV certification within six months. Night shift, full-time with benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current Basic EMT or Paramedic license in the state of Montana.
• Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) Certification for Healthcare Providers upon hire.
• EMTs must obtain IV certification within six months of their hire date.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patients' vital signs and informs RN/Physician of changes.
• Collects blood, urine, saliva and stool samples for analysis.
• Inserts Foley catheters, performs catheterizations, dressings, casts or splints.
• Performs 12-lead EKGs and assists doctors and nurses during procedures.
• Assists with safe patient handling and movement.
• Assists with admitting patients, scheduling transfers, and discharge instructions.
• Maintains patient charts, answers calls, and supports the care team as unit secretary.
• Adheres to infection prevention standards.
