Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an Emergency Dept Clinical Nurse Educator for full-time day shift. The Educator will lead clinical education, orientation and ongoing competency verification across the department.

The CNE collaborates with nursing leadership, educators and HR to align education with patient safety, quality care and regulatory standards, while serving as a resource and clinical consultant to staff.

Qualifications

• Current RN license or work permit in Kentucky.
• Three years of acute care experience in the designated specialty within the last five years.
• BSN from accredited nursing program.
• Certification as Professional Development Specialist preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC certifications as required by assignment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with department directors, nursing staff and others to identify unit-specific educational needs.
• Collaborates with educators to prevent redundancies of educational efforts.
• Facilitates unit/hospital orientation program for area of responsibility.
• Provides ongoing support and coaching to preceptors and new employees.
• Assesses educational needs for orientation, in-service education and continuing education.
• Teaches programs using adult learning principles and quality instructional materials.
• Evaluates learning objectives and ensures accreditation documentation.
• Participates in patient care delivery and provides clinical consultation.
• Engages in research/evidence-based practice and develops practice guidelines.
