Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville seeks an experienced Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator for the Main Emergency Room. You will have staffing support, technology and resources to deliver safe, high-quality care while focusing on what you do best.

The ER CNC directs, coordinates and evaluates nursing care, mentoring staff, and collaborating with the management team to improve patient outcomes and throughput during shifts, including weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher is required, or obtained within 3 years of hire/transfer
• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
• A current AHA/Red Cross BLS Health Care Provider is required
• A current AHA/Red Cross ACLS Health Care Provider is required
• A current AHA/Red Cross PALS Health Care Provider is required
• Prior Emergency Room RN experience is required
• Leadership experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit, with the management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and managers to create an environment of teamwork for improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Operates nursing strategies including hourly rounds to improve engagement and patient care.
• Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; handles performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management.
• Supports inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
