Job summary

Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to oversee patient-centered care on the ER shift. The role directs nursing care, mentors staff, and partners with management to optimize throughput and outcomes.

The CNC will participate in admissions/discharges, schedule staff, and ensure policy compliance while maintaining a focus on quality and safety across the unit.

Qualifications

• 1+ year RN experience in a hospital setting.
• Currently licensed as a registered nurse in NC; eNLC may apply.
• BLS certification is required.
• Demonstrated leadership in coordinating patient care.

Responsibilities

• Ensures and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care during the shift.
• Directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care per policies and procedures.
• Acts as a resource for staff and models the organization's values.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and throughput optimization.
• Supports staff scheduling and labor management within productivity guidelines.
• Collaborates with managers to improve outcomes and service delivery.
• Engages in service recovery and patient-first initiatives.
