Job summary

Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to oversee patient-centered care in the ER during night shifts. The CNC will collaborate with the nursing leadership team to monitor care quality, assist with staffing, and ensure efficient patient throughput while promoting a culture aligned with the organization’s mission and values.

The role requires 1+ year of nursing experience, an RN license in NC or a valid compact license, and BLS certification, with duties including

Qualifications

• 1+ years applicable nursing experience.
• Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina or compact state; NC BON license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes for efficient throughput.
• Contribute to ongoing assessment of quality of patient care in the unit.
• Collaborate with managers to promote teamwork and improved outcomes.
• Support patient-first philosophy and service recovery.
• Implement nursing strategies such as hourly rounds and staff engagement.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training of new staff.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor management.
• Assist with inventory control and equipment management.
