Job summary

SAGE Campbell is seeking a Per Diem ER/CCU Veterinary Technician to support our Emergency and Critical Care Unit in Campbell, CA. The role offers per diem shifts with flexible scheduling for experienced RVTs or veterinary technicians with emergency or specialty background.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of clinical veterinary experience, strong client communication, and sharp attention to detail. VACSP status is required within 60 days of hire unless exempt with CA RVT license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry.
• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred.
• Emergency or specialty veterinary experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to interact with clients and team members with tact, patience, professionalism, and discretion.
• Must maintain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain one within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role.
• VACSP requirement is waived for individuals who hold a valid California RVT license.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to veterinarians caring for emergency and critical care patients.
• Assist with patient care, treatment, monitoring, and other veterinary clinical procedures.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and members of the veterinary team.
• Perform accurate mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other clinical calculations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient and client information.
• Follow hospital protocols and safety standards while providing high-quality patient care.
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians, RVTs, Veterinary Assistants, and other hospital team members.
