Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health, at SAGE San Francisco, seeks a Per Diem Veterinary Technician for Emergency & Critical Care. You'll work with board-certified specialists and a multidisciplinary team on a flexible, as-needed schedule.

Requirements include a high school diploma and emergency or specialty experience; CA RVT license preferred. Minimum one shift per month to maintain per diem status; exciting growth within a leading network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• CA RVT license preferred but not required.
• Emergency or Specialty veterinary experience required.
• Ability to obtain VACSP within 60 days (not required for RVTs).
• Strong math for dosages, CRIs, estimates and invoices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
• Collaborative, professional and patient‑focused.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency patients and prioritize care by urgency.
• Monitor critically ill, unstable, and recovering patients.
• Administer medications, IV fluids and oxygen therapy.
• Assist with emergency procedures, diagnostics and stabilization.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement and sample collection.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Communicate with veterinarians, technicians and pet owners.
• Ensure emergency equipment and supplies are ready and clean.
• Collaborate with clinicians and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive hospital culture.
