Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time CNA/EMT/ERT with 2-3 years of hospital or pre-hospital care experience to support the Emergency Department at Advocate Trinity Hospital. The role involves night shifts, every other weekend, and patient-centered care across triage, nursing support, and routine procedures.

The ideal candidate maintains patient privacy, demonstrates strong communication, and collaborates with RNs to ensure timely, quality care in a high-pressure ED setting.

Qualifications

• CNA, EMT, or ERT certification and current CPR certification.
• Experience in hospital or pre-hospital patient care.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrocardiograms.
• Draws blood specimens according to policy and procedure and delivers to the lab.
• Prepares unit, patient treatment area and stretcher for receiving patients.
• Maintains patient privacy and assists with data entry for dispositions.
• Distributes nutrition service trays.
• Assists RN with triage, admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Transports and positions patients using proper body mechanics.
• Provides postmortem care and assists with crutches training.
• Fits crutches and teaches crutch walking under RN supervision.
