Job summary

UNC Rex Holly Springs Hospital seeks a qualified Nursing Assistant I to join the Emergency Services team in Holly Springs, NC. The role supports patient care, safety, and responds to patient needs in a busy ED environment.

Responsibilities include vitals, documentation, sterile procedures, minor procedures, and accurate transcription of orders. Position is full-time, day schedule, onsite, with salary range listed.

Qualifications

• Language Skills: read/interpret safety rules and write routine reports.
• Math skills: perform basic arithmetic with money/measurements.
• Reasoning: follow instructions and solve simple problems.
• Interpersonal: communicate with patients and staff effectively.

Responsibilities

• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration every 2 hours or as directed.
• Records intake and outputs as directed.
• Performs urinary catheterization or in-and-out Foley as directed and documents.
• Sets up area for sterile procedures and documents.
• Performs minor orthopedic splinting under physician assistant supervision.
• Documents skin breakdowns and notifies RN.
• Transcribes and transmits physician orders and other information.
• Works in triage, minor treatment and acute areas per policy.
