Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut seeks an ER Tech to deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Room and support medical providers and licensed nurses. The role focuses on safety, comfort, and efficient patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Expect 6–10 weeks of ED training, mandatory dysrhythmia course, and a full-time evening shift (3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.) with every other weekend/holiday commitments. Excellent benefits and immediate health insurance are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• EMT-B, Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant with acute care experience preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• English reading/writing/speaking and basic math calculations required.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients.
• Provides for nutrition and elimination needs of patients.
• Performs specific procedures according to patient plan of care.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer for patients on and off unit.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family members and hospital personnel.
• Maintains safe unit environment, supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care.
