Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support patient care in the Morton Hospital ER. You will help manage departmental flow, assist with wound care, and perform phlebotomy and EKG testing as directed by physicians.

Responsibilities include documenting vital signs, preparing sterile instruments, and teaching basic safety practices. A High School diploma and BLS are required, with preferred ER experience and basic computer skills for charting.

Qualifications

• ER technician experience beyond one year preferred.
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care activities for ER patients and support departmental flow.
• Assist with wound care, splints, and initial dressing changes as directed.
• Perform EKGs and phlebotomy as needed.
• Document vital signs and interventions in patient records.
• Ensure sterile technique and prepare supplies for procedures.
