Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support basic patient care under licensed nurse supervision. You will ensure patient safety, communicate with the healthcare team, and maintain documentation in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires a CNA certification, BLS and CPI within 30 days of hire, and preference for telemetry experience. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Flexible scheduling may be required, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in hospital and telemetry settings is preferred.
• Certification as a Nurses’ Assistant (CNA) is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 30 days from hire.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) must be obtained within 30 days from hire.

Responsibilities

• Support the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provide care based on patient age and needs determined by the nurse.
• Communicate patient care needs with patients, families, and staff.
• Complete documentation of patient-related tasks.
• Adapt communication and care to the patient’s population and privacy requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
