Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin, part of Prime Healthcare Services, seeks a Monitor Tech to observe cardiac rhythms and support the unit with indirect patient care. This role involves verifying orders, preparing records for daily needs, and assisting RN-supervised tasks as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate, BLS certification, and at least six months of healthcare or Monitor Technician experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for all new hires.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Six months previous experience in Healthcare or as Monitor Technician.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Transcribe physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR system.
• Verify that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and completed.
• Prepare and complete patient charts and necessary forms daily; assist nursing staff with indirect care when appropriate.
