Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP, PA, CNS) for the Emergency Department. The role emphasizes collaboration, health promotion, and acute/chronic care management.

Education includes MSN/PA studies with applicable state licensure and national certification. The AP will participate in rounds, educate patients, and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years for APRN hires.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• PA Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or higher.
• RN license in applicable state and NP certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS/PALS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough histories and physical examinations; order tests and develop a treatment plan.
• Perform and interpret routine diagnostics within hospital privileges.
• Prescribe and monitor medications per licensure and policy.
• Educate patients about disease, treatments, and side effects.
• Participate in rounds with the healthcare team to ensure quality care.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure continuity of care.
