Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Medical ICU team in a part-time role. The APP will care for adults with life-threatening illnesses under an attending intensivist on-site 24/7, performing ICU rounds and procedures including intubations and line insertions.

The position offers a mix of weekday and weekend shifts, with 6 (12-hour) shifts per month. Requires national APRN/PA/CNS certification and cooperation with the multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough medical histories and physical examinations, initiates labs and tests, and develops a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Performs routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee.
• Prescribes and monitors medications as allowed by license and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educates patients and answers questions regarding disease, treatments, and drug side effects.
• Participates in rounds and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure quality care.
• Ensures continuity of care and coordinates discharge planning and resources.
