Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS seeks an Emergency Department Advance Practice Provider (APP) to deliver advanced nursing and patient care in a fast-paced ED setting. The APP works independently and with physicians, designing treatment plans and coordinating care within departmental protocols.

This non-exempt, 12-hour shift role requires RN competencies and board-certified NP/PA qualifications, with weekend, night, and holiday coverage as needed, under Stormont Vail Health policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s prepared with national certification eligibility.
• Graduate of an accredited PA/APRN program.
• Meets department policy timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary care for the emergency department/Trauma population.
• Evaluates health status and acute illness needs in collaboration with the team.
• Designs and evaluates individualized treatment plans and coordinates care.
• Attends rounds and communicates orders and care plans to the team.
• Updates charts and facilitates referrals to case management and social services.
