Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Kansas seeks a Qualified APRN/NP to provide patient care in collaboration with attending medical staff. The role directs and coordinates APP activities across clinical areas to meet hospital goals, perform exams, histories, and order tests per protocol and patient needs.

Must hold valid APRN licensure and be certified as a nurse practitioner by a recognized body; RN competencies must be maintained. DEA registration for controlled substances is required.

Qualifications

• APRN incumbents must maintain RN competencies.
• Must have valid APRN licensure and NP certification by a recognized body.
• Department will specify any additional certifications for settings.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate APP work with attending staff to meet unit and hospital goals.
• Perform mental health/physical exams and document findings.
• Order labs, radiology, and diagnostic tests appropriate for patient condition.
• Assess findings and determine necessary tests and care plans.
• Prescribe medications per protocol with DEA registration for controlled substances.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures.
