We are seeking an experienced Equity Execution Trader to join a sophisticated investment management platform.
The role will focus primarily on executing listed securities across a range of strategies, while also providing exposure to other asset classes as needed. The successful candidate will work closely with Portfolio Managers and investment professionals to develop and implement effective execution strategies, manage trading relationships, and continuously improve the firm's trading infrastructure and workflows.
This is a highly collaborative, front-office role within a fast-paced investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute trades across front-office trading systems for both hedged and long-only equity strategies, consistent with best execution policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze trading activity across pre-trade, real-time, and post-trade processes to identify opportunities to improve execution quality.
- Partner closely with Portfolio Managers and investment teams to assess liquidity, advise on execution strategies, and minimize transaction costs.
- Provide market color, trading insights, and relevant developments to investment professionals across the organization.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, counterparties, and other market participants.
- Evaluate and implement new trading technology, execution tools, and transaction cost analysis solutions to enhance trading capabilities and workflows.
- Participate in relevant industry forums, vendor relationships, and other external initiatives as appropriate.
- Understand different brokerage and liquidity models and determine the most effective approach to execution and capital utilization.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience executing trades and negotiating effectively with brokers and counterparties.
- Strong understanding of equity markets, market microstructure, liquidity, and execution strategies.
- Analytical and technically proficient, with experience using modern trading platforms and execution tools.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-performance, collaborative investment environment.
- Strong judgment and the ability to make timely decisions in a fast-moving market.
- Comfortable learning new technologies and adapting to evolving trading workflows.
- 3+ years of relevant execution trading experience, ideally across multiple asset classes.
Qualifications
- Required regulatory registrations or certifications applicable to the candidate's jurisdiction.
- Industry credentials such as CFA or FINRA/Series licenses are a plus.
- Experience with EMS/OMS and trading platforms, such as FlexTrade, Bloomberg, Tradeweb, Enfusion, or comparable systems.
