Job summary

Berklee College of Music seeks a strategic, legally grounded Director of Equity and Title IX to lead the Equity Team. Reporting to the Chief Equity and Conduct Officer, you will drive policy enforcement and collaboration across campuses to maintain a safe, inclusive environment for all students and staff.

The role requires 8–10 years in higher education equity or civil rights, with strong leadership and data-driven decision skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a related field highly desired.
• Experience leading equity/compliance programs in higher education.
• Strong knowledge of federal civil rights laws (Title IX, VAWA) and related frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Title IX and institutional equity system ensuring compliance with Title VI, VII, IX and related laws.
• Supervise Equity and Title IX team; provide leadership and mentorship.
• Coordinate investigations of discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct with trauma-informed approaches.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to align equity initiatives across divisions.
