Job summary

Morgan Stanley in New York seeks an Associate to join its Enterprise Software research team. You will create and maintain earnings, valuation and industry models, and write research notes.

You will interact with institutional investors, track industry news, build relationships, and apply AI-enabled tools while maintaining rigor. A 1–3 year background in Equity Research or related fields is preferred; CFA path a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional experience in Equity Research, Investment Banking, or Capital Markets.
• Advanced Excel proficiency for building/maintaining financial models.
• Experience writing equity research notes or industry reports.
• Strong PowerPoint skills required.
• Able to work under pressure with strong attention to detail.
• CFA path is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain earnings, valuation and industry models leveraging accounting, finance and economics.
• Write research reports for initiations of coverage, data analysis, earnings results, and industry news.
• Interact with institutional investors and respond to requests for models and data analysis.
• Keep abreast of industry-related news flow and analyze implications for covered companies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with investor relations personnel and management.
• Adopt AI-enabled research tools to accelerate data gathering and analysis while ensuring rigor.
• Conduct industry diligence and primary research through surveys and channel checks.
