Heights Capital Management seeks an analyst to identify potential investments, build diligence, and support portfolio reviews. You will work directly with investment managers from deal inception to pricing in a small team environment.

The role requires 2–5 years in equity research or related fields, strong modeling and SEC filing proficiency, and familiarity with PIPEs, ATMs and warrants. Candidates must manage deals within tight timelines and maintain MNPI discipline.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in equity research, investment banking (ECM), buy-side, or advisory.
• Strong accounting and modeling skills, and fluency reading SEC filings in detail.
• Working knowledge of PIPEs, registered directs, ATMs and warrant transactions; direct deal experience a plus.
• Comfort meeting tight deal timelines with quick decisions and strong MNPI discipline.

Responsibilities

• Screen US-listed companies for capital need using cash runway, burn rate, shelf and ATM capacity, upcoming catalysts and trading liquidity.
• Monitor SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, S-3, 424B5), sell-side research, news flow and banker deal flow to keep a live pipeline of candidates.
• Develop and maintain the desk's watchlist and candidate tracker, and help refine the screening tools behind it.
• Prepare due diligence: build and maintain financial models for runway, dilution, capital structure and warrant scenarios.
• Analyze management track record, prior financings and terms, and regulatory picture for healthcare names.
• Write concise investment memos with cited sources and present recommendations to the desk.
• Join management and banker calls, track questions to answers, coordinate with legal/compliance on wall-cross.
• Support portfolio companies by monitoring catalysts, earnings, filings and cash position.
