Job summary

East Harlem Scholars Academies in New York seeks a History/Social Studies teacher at the middle school level to partner with grade and instructional leadership teams to develop curriculum, deliver high-quality instruction, monitor student progress, and foster a positive school culture.

You will also serve as an advisor to 10-15 students, support social-emotional learning, and contribute to ongoing professional development and anti-racist pedagogy commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required and NYS certification is highly preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant educational experience is expected.
• Strong commitment to anti-racist pedagogy and equity.

Responsibilities

• Teach History/Social Studies to middle school or higher.
• Collaborate with grade team and instructional leadership to develop curriculum and deliver instruction.
• Track student progress and contribute to school culture and climate.
• Act as class advisor to a group of 10–15 students and support social-emotional learning.
