Job summary

Clovis Community College seeks an Equity-minded instructor for its Early Childhood Education program, hiring on a part-time basis to support a diverse student body across multiple campuses. The instructor will develop curriculum, deliver lectures and labs, and advise students on academic and career goals in Child Development.

Responsibilities include participation in committees, outreach, and flexible scheduling including evenings/weekends or online/off-campus instruction as needed to support

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education; or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education.
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the above and a master’s degree in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/home economics, family life studies, or family and consumer studies; or
• A valid California Community College Credential; or
• The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in information systems on campus and at offsite locations.
• Teach a variety of child development/early childhood education courses including lecture and lab components and large group instruction.
• Develop curricula, instructional methodologies, and strategies.
• Advise students in group and individual settings on academic and career goals in Child Development.
• Meet regularly with discipline/division peers and participate on advisory and campus-wide committees.
