Job summary

South San Francisco Unified School District seeks a dynamic Special Education Teacher to support extensive needs, focusing on equity and inclusive practices. You will deliver resource support, differentiate instruction, and collaborate with general education teachers to implement IEPs.

You will coordinate with school psychologists and specialists, monitor progress, and contribute to daily lesson planning while engaging with the broader school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• California teaching credential aligned to the position.
• English Learner (EL) Authorization.
• Ability to differentiate lessons for learners with different assets.
• Knowledge of California State Common Core Standards.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; SSFUSD does not sponsor.

Responsibilities

• Providing resource support and differentiating instruction for students with special needs.
• Providing direct instructional services for approximately 80% of assigned student contact time.
• Coordinating special education services with the regular school program and monitoring IEP implementation.
• Consulting with school psychologists and other specialists to coordinate support services.
• Assessing student progress regularly and adjusting short-term objectives as needed.
• Collaborating with teachers and school leaders on daily lessons and school-wide programs.
