Job summary

Grand Ledge Public Schools is seeking an experienced Principal to serve as the instructional leader and chief administrator of the school, guiding student achievement, staff growth, and organizational effectiveness. The Principal will implement the district’s vision for teaching and learning, promote high‑quality instruction, lead professional learning communities, and foster a positive school climate.

This role reports to the Superintendent and collaborates with families, staff, and district

Qualifications

• Experience leading instructional improvement initiatives.
• Ability to communicate with staff and parents while maintaining confidentiality.
• Uses multiple sources of student, instructional, and climate data to drive school improvement.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to organize work routines, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to develop working relationships with staff, parents, students, and community.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school programs aligned with district goals.
• Provides leadership to staff for evaluation and improvement of educational programs.
• Promotes a culture of belonging where every student and staff feels valued.
• Ensures implementation of board policies and negotiated contracts.
• Leads MTSS implementation to provide timely interventions.
• Leads PLCs focused on student learning and continuous improvement.
• Builds leadership capacity through distributive leadership.
• Creates building schedule for staffing and classes.
• Encourages innovation and use of technology.
• Ensures culture focused on cultural responsiveness and restorative practices.
• Organizes and manages the budget.
• Supervises and evaluates staff.
• Knowledge of federal/state programs and aligning resources.
