Job summary

Ohlone College in Newark Center is seeking a Career Center Advisor to provide career advising, case management, and coordination of workforce development services for students and community members.

The ideal candidate will manage an active caseload, ensure timely documentation and compliance with WIOA guidelines, and collaborate with campus and community partners to connect individuals with education, training, and employment opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social science or related field.
• Three years of increasingly responsible experience in career counseling.
• Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse backgrounds and equity-minded practices.
• A valid California Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community and campus outreach regarding career counseling services and program offerings.
• Provide program case management in compliance with grant-funded programs and maintain accurate documentation.
• Deliver individual career counseling and group workshops on job search skills and career pathways.
• Develop and update curriculum for job seeker workshops and coordinate internal/external presentations.
• Review program eligibility and support clients through enrollment and documentation processes.
• Collaborate with campus departments and community partners to align career services with statewide initiatives.
