Job summary

Envision Education in Hayward, CA is seeking a College Counselor to sustain a college-going culture for all students and to support seniors’ applications and transitions to college and careers.

Reporting to the Principal, you will provide personalized guidance through the admissions cycle, collaborate with families, and build a network of college partners to expand access for first‑generation and low‑income students.

Qualifications

• Mission-driven to Envision Education and its students.
• Anti-racist and pro-Black ideologies essential in the workplace.
• BA/BS and MA/MS required; PPS credential required.
• At least 2+ years in a school setting with college admissions knowledge.
• Must maintain California residency after hire.
• Experience engaging with diverse families, esp. Black, African American, Latino/a/x, and immigrant families.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred.
• Open to feedback and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Guide 12th graders through college and financial aid applications.
• Provide one-on-one counseling through admissions, including list, essays, and matriculation.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians via workshops and meetings.
• Support low-income students with fee waivers, fly-in visits, and programs.
• Develop and monitor case management plans with data-driven interventions.
• Plan workshops for parents on financial aid, institutions, and scholarships.
• Build relationships with college reps and coordinate on-site admissions days.
• Represent the school at events and other duties.
