Job summary

Rhode Island School of Design seeks an Investigator & Educator, Equity & Compliance to join Social Equity & Inclusion. The role conducts impartial investigations into civil rights compliance matters and supports education, prevention, and outreach to foster an inclusive community.

The position collaborates with the Title IX Coordinator and other campus partners, maintaining neutral, thorough documentation and timely updates for all parties involved. RISD offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1–2 years of investigations experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Investigator certification in Title IX or civil rights is preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience accepted in lieu of minimum degree requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct impartial investigations into civil rights complaints (Title VI/IX, ADA/504, etc.).
• Prepare written reports detailing allegations, evidence, and findings.
• Provide education, prevention, and outreach on DEI and compliance.
• Collaborate with Title IX Coordinator and other offices to address systemic issues.
• Maintain thorough case documentation and timely updates.
• Support training programs on discriminatory harassment and sexual misconduct.
