Job Description

Position Description:

This position will be part of a technical team responsible for engineering work that includes continuous improvement, investigating and troubleshooting equipment, manufacturing, and facility problems, analyzing production results, implementing and improving manufacturing methods and processes, and ensuring high yield and productivity in a highly automated manufacturing environment. The role also involves interaction with internal and external customers and vendors to solve urgent and complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to support all in-plant production as required. Position requires some on-call support.

Job Responsibilities:

An equipment technician engineer ensures continuous process improvement and maintains machines through teamwork and clear communication. Collaborates with production, process engineers, and related teams to achieve team goals and explore future opportunities.

1. Design, control, and implement modifications and improvements of equipment.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to chronic errors and issues.
3. Conduct root cause analysis and report major errors.
4. Monitor and ensure continuous operation of machines to reduce breakdown time.
5. Create and update documentation for all machines, including troubleshooting guides, work instructions, and operational/maintenance information during shifts, and implement preventive solutions.
6. Support production and maintenance teams in solving technical problems.
7. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
8. Coordinate activities of employees engaged in production, maintenance, and inspection.
9. Analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records to determine requirements and evaluate outputs.
10. Develop practical knowledge in mechanics, electrics, pneumatics, and controls.
11. Implement strategies to improve equipment uptime and availability.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 1-3 years of industrial maintenance engineering experience.
• Bi-lingual in English and Korean.
• Objective-driven with strong ownership and accountability.
• Logical thinking and decision-making skills, with focus on root cause analysis using data and proven problem-solving methods.
• Mechanical/technical curiosity and mindset.
• Willingness to learn complex battery manufacturing processes to become a technical resource.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office for report writing and communication.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams to achieve goals.
