Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking an Equipment Technician in New Orleans, LA to clean and disinfect medical equipment and manage department par levels. You will read inventory sheets, monitor stock, and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include responding to hospital staff inquiries, following daily schedules, and maintaining a clean, organized work area while wearing proper PPE.

Title: Equipment Technician Job Description: Job Overview

The Equipment Technician will be responsible for safely cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment and maintaining appropriate par levels for each department.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Walk and or stand for long periods of time
• Answer and respond to phone calls and emails from hospital staff
• Appropriately clean and disinfect medical equipment using the approved disinfectant
• Able to read par sheets and inventory levels
• Adhere to hospital policies and infection control processes
• Obtain supplies via Stock Acquisition Process
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Operate pushcart for transporting equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list itemsUse proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Education and/ or Experience

• No specific education requirements
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Completed all safety and task training certification
• A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs.
• Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read inventory forms
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Shifts and Compensation

Sunday 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday 12:00pm-7:00pm & Wednesday and Thursday 7:00am-2:00pm off every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. $15.00-$16.00 per hour.
