Job summary

FinishWorks is seeking a mechanically inclined Equipment Technician to join our team in Shipshewana, Indiana. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install industrial paint and coating application equipment while supporting customers and our sales team.

In this role you’ll travel to customer sites, provide solutions, and build lasting relationships. A strong mechanical background, customer service mindset, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds are essential; forklift training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with industrial paint and coating equipment (Graco, Kremlin, DeVilbiss) preferred.
• Forklift experience or willingness to complete training.
• Industrial maintenance or equipment repair experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain customer-owned coating application equipment.
• Perform equipment repairs both in our facility and at customer locations.
• Assist customers and sales personnel with equipment-related questions and solutions.
• Travel to customer sites for installations, service calls, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Prepare equipment recommendations and quotations based on customer needs.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with cycle counts.
• Identify opportunities to support customer growth and equipment sales.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working with equipment and tools. Travel to customer locations may be required.
