Job summary

SBM in Cincinnati is recruiting an Equipment Technician responsible for safely cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment and maintaining par levels across departments. The role requires reading inventory sheets, communicating with hospital staff, and ensuring compliance with infection control policies.

You will handle supplies, drive to sites if needed, operate transport carts, and keep work areas clean while following safety rules.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read inventory forms
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Responsibilities

  • Walk and stand for long periods
  • Answer and respond to phone calls and emails from hospital staff
  • Appropriately clean and disinfect medical equipment using the approved disinfectant
  • Able to read par sheets and inventory levels
  • Adhere to hospital policies and infection control processes
  • Obtain supplies via Stock Acquisition Process
  • Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
  • Operate pushcart for transporting equipment
  • Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
  • Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Stop at risk behavior of others and self
  • Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
  • Perform repetitive tasks
  • Maintain clean work area
  • Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
  • Fill in during staff shortage
  • Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
  • Use proper personal protective equipment
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction
  • The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
