Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Equipment Solutions Intern to support our construction projects with equipment rentals and site services. You will work closely with project teams and partners, gaining hands-on experience and contributing from day one while building the foundation for your career.

The internship runs May–August 2027, offering real-world exposure, development opportunities, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate four-year degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Equipment management: planning and procurement of equipment for construction with internal/third-party rentals and billing.
• System/Software management: exposure to software used to manage equipment and rentals.
• Procurement: assist with receiving support, contract documents, and consumable purchasing.
• Exposure to equipment facilities and construction field operations.

Responsibilities

Equipment Solutions supports our construction projects by supplying high-quality equipment rentals and innovative site services. We work with nearly every group within Mortenson as well as trade partners and vendors to ensure project goals are achieved through the important work of optimization of equipment assets. As our Equipment Solutions Intern, you’ll provide administrative and analytical support to the critical work of the team.

• Equipment Management - planning and procurement of equipment utilized during the construction process including processing equipment requests/transactions (internal and third-party rentals), logistical coordination, and billing
• System/Software management - exposure to the various software used to manage equipment and process equipment rentals
• Procurement - assistance with receiving support, contract document management, and consumable purchasing
• Exposure to equipment facility and construction field operations

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other related degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Have previous related internship experience
• Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate junior
• Have a basic understanding of construction and generally accepted business practices
• Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills and show initiative and leadership
• Showcase a positive and professional attitude and solid customer service skills
• Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively handle multiple competing priorities

The hourly wage for college Interns starts at $18. Students may be paid higher wages based on their year in school.
